Charles Michael Noffsinger of Princeton KY, affectionately known as “Mike,” was born on July 12, 1939, and entered eternal rest at his home on September 8, 2024, at the age of 85. Mike was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather whose life was woven with love, creativity, and passion.
For nearly two decades, Mike owned and operated his beloved store, “Feather Your Nest,” in Princeton. It was more than just a business; it was expression of his vibrant spirit and creativity, a place where he shared his love for design and decor with others. Before embarking on this entrepreneurial journey, he honed his leadership skills in management at Elder Beerman, where his dedication and strong work ethic shone brightly.
An extraordinary man, Mike’s interests were diverse and deep. He was a voracious reader who found joy in the pages of countless books. His love for musical theater brought excitement into his life, as he often marveled at the performances that combined story and song in beautiful harmony. A talented quilt designer and needlepoint artist, Mike had an exceptional knack for creativity, which manifested not just in his business but in every aspect of his life. He enjoyed playing dominoes with his family—a cherished pastime that fostered connections and laughter, bringing everyone close together.
Mike served proudly in the United States Air Force from 1958 to 1962, a chapter of his life that instilled in him a sense of discipline and camaraderie. He carried these values throughout his life, creating bonds that would last a lifetime.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 65 years, Ann Noffsinger, who was his partner in all things. His son, Stephen Michael Noffsinger (Paula) of Clarksville, TN, and daughter, Kimberly Hayden (Doug) of New Richmond, OH, will remember him fondly along with his grandchildren: Ami Noffsinger, Will Hayden, and Jake Hayden. His legacy lives on through his great-grandchildren: Curtis, Tori, Cloie, Paisley, and Zaine, who brought him immense joy and pride.
Mike is preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Margaree Noffsinger, and his brothers, Gary and Rick Noffsinger, along with his sister, Nancy Slaton. He also mourned the loss of his grandchild, Seth Noffsinger, whose memory will forever hold a special place in the hearts of those who knew him.
The light that Mike brought into the world through his creativity, warmth, and love will be greatly missed. He leaves behind a tapestry of memories that will continue to inspire his family and friends. Though he has departed from this Earth, the kindness he shared and the love he cultivated will carry on in the lives of all those he touched.
A Celebration of Life at the final opening of "Feather Your Nest", 125 W Main St, Princeton, will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2024, from 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm. This is a time the family has set aside for "Mikes Last Clearance Sale" (cash only).
