Deena Marie D. Young

Deena Marie D. Young of Eddyville, KY, born on June 3, 1956, in Oaklawn, Illinois, at the age of 68, left this world on August 28, 2024, at Mercy Health Hospital in Paducah Kentucky. A devoted member of the Christian faith, Deena lived a life filled with love, faith, and compassion for those around her.

Deena will be remembered not only for her unwavering protective nature but also for her immense love for family, which was a cornerstone of her life. She cherished her time with family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren, who brought immense joy to her heart.

She leaves behind her beloved sons, Bob Drish (Kim) of Paducah, Tino Drish-Young (Cindy) of Eddyville, and her daughter Amy Young (Travis Hines) also of Eddyville. Deena is survived by her brothers, Michael Melone (Debbie) of Grand Rivers and Tino Melone (Nicole) of Valparaiso, Indiana, her significant other Mark Powers of Eddyville, and her honorary daughter Jacquelyn Gibson (Gerald).  Deena was also a proud grandmother and great-grandmother, leaving a legacy of love and family values.

Deena's journey through life was marked by both joy and sorrow. She was predeceased by her husband, Irving M. Young, her son Tony Young, her sister Kathy Tarena, and her parents Michael and Rose Melone. Each of these losses left a profound impact on Deena, shaping her into the caring and protective person she became.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at Goodman Funeral Home, located at 1032 West Main St, Princeton, Kentucky, on September 2, 2024. Visitation will begin at 12:00 PM, followed by a Funeral Service at 3:00 PM with Michael Melone officiating.

Deena Marie D. Young's spirit, through her love and faith, will continue to inspire all who had the pleasure of knowing her. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of her family and friends.
