John Ross "Buster" Stewart, age 86, of Cadiz formerly of Princeton, passed away peacefully at his residence on September 27, 2024.
Buster was born on October 28, 1937, in Trigg County, to his late parents, Carl Stewart and Lillian Atwood Stewart. An electrical lineman by trade, he retired after an esteemed 33 years of service as General Foreman at the Princeton Electric Plant Board. In addition, he was an avid outdoorsman who loved spending his time hunting and fishing. Buster was a member of Southside Baptist Church, where in previous years he served as a deacon. He was also a member of the Clinton Masonic Lodge #82. He will be remembered by his family and friends for his unwavering Christian faith and love of family.
Buster is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Deane Coleman Stewart of Cadiz, son Kent Ross Stewart (Juli) of Owensboro, and daughter Ashley Elizabeth Tyler (Aaron) of Cadiz. He is also survived by his brothers Brent Stewart, Bruce Stewart, Ralph Stewart, all of Princeton, and Leslie Stewart of Oklahoma, as well as his sisters Marlene Villifranca of Texas, Winnie Eckles, and Sherry Yeldell of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Buster was a proud grandfather to McKenna Carlin Green, Mitchell Ross Green, Izabella Stewart, Emma Claire Stewart, Dallas Tyler, and Mackenzie Driver, who will dearly miss him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Carroll Stewart, Jerry Stewart, Royce Stewart, and sister Patricia Ladd.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Goodman Funeral Home, located at 1032 West Main St, Princeton, KY 42445. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM with Rev. Jamus Redd III officiating. Private burial at Cedar Hill Cemetery to take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy can be made in his honor to Pennyroyal Hospice 220 Burley Ave. Hopkinsville KY 42240.
